If you got either got married in the 80s or were a bridesmaid in the 80s, or both, you’ll remember the pouffy dress. I certainly subjected my bridesmaids to that look. “Bridesmaid c. 1987” started out as an abstract swatch of blue violet on orange, but I saw a dress in that blue shape and felt compelled to give the dress someone to wear it.
