Staring into a roaring bonfire is such a primal thing, watching the flames flicker and sitting trancelike in the heat. I based this painting on a photo I took several years ago while on vacation at our family lake cabin; my sons and my nephew had built a fire and we all sat around it, enveloped in a lovely warmth. I think it’s a feeling everyone wants to feel; the fire, the warmth, the togetherness.
