One Day in Spain - Sold

Here’s a departure; painting from my iPad — most of my figurative work comes straight out of my head. This one is based on a photo of one of my sons from years ago when I was visiting him in Seville, Spain, where he was working post-college as an English language tutor at a high school. I remember that particular day as being rather painful — we were working out some issues, issues that brought on a big heap of mother guilt, piled on not by him, by the way, but by me piling on myself. He’s walking away from me, and all I could think at the time was, “I’ve lost him.” Fortunately, our relationship is strong now — we’ve both matured!
