I used to teach elementary school, and having been surrounded by many children over the years, I speak with some conviction when I say that seven is the golden age of childhood. Missing teeth, open hearts, full presence in the moment and in the world of imagination. I wonder, what would the world be like if every child could live safely in that golden age, if every human at that point in their life could enjoy the safe sanctuary of seven? For one, I imagine we’d have a less troubled world, with more peace and compassion all around, and of course, a legacy of love for the next batch of 7 year olds.
